Too much milk

Overabundant milk supply and forceful letdown. How on earth did it come to this?

I'm huge and sore and the poor Fiendling chokes and cries and is constantly getting squirted in the face. Everything smells like sour milk. The lactation consultant recommended cabbage leaves and ice packs, but the ice packs hurt like a motherfucker and the internet told me that cabbage leaves will dry up my milk.

Did I mention that I had a fever last night? The combination of a temperature and ice packs on my boobs made me shiver uncontrollably and the aching, my god the aching. I woke up in pool of sweat, breast milk and the Fiendling's urine. I'm so tired. It's a good thing this kid is so cute.

Not trying to freak you out, but have them check for mastitis.

He's lovely. I had a similar problem, by the way. I ended up having to express some out before feeding the Karmite so I wouldn't hose him down every time he ate.

Also? Had mastitis. Trust me. You'll know when you have it. Hurts like a motherfather.

By the way, forceful letdown sounds like a relationship breakup.

Good idea, express some before feeding... Also, try some cooking oil after eating. It was the best thing, actually the only thing that helped my sore nipples. My mom's remedy to put some cooking oil on a piece of cotton ball and place it on your nipples for about half an hour... trust me, check him out on my blog... By the way, he is adorable.

Sounds like a whole lot of not fun to me. Hope things get better soon.

Sorry about the milk issues. It's impossible to be happy when your breasts are hurting, because OW!

The consolation, I guess, is that the babe making you miserable is so freaking adorable. Cute, cute, cute.
